- Focuses on the aviation sectors under the oversight the Aviation Safety Group which oversees most of the aviation system. The two notable exceptions are security and infrastructure – these sectors are monitored by the Aviation Security and Infrastructure Group.
- Contributes to the Authority’s overall surveillance function under the ICAO State Oversight System, Critical Element (CE) 7.
- Plans and conducts proactive activities to provide assurance that:
- current certificates remain valid
- relevant legislation is otherwise being met
- aviation risks within the system are being identified and managed.
