After serving two full terms with the Civil Aviation Authority’s Board, Jill Hatchwell’s term will end on 31 July 2025. During her time with us, Jill Chaired the Audit, Risk, and Assurance Committee with a wealth of industry knowledge and provided valuable continuity during last year’s Board changes.
Terry Murdoch, who joined as part of the new Board appointments in August 2024, has retired due to health reasons. Terry added great value and expertise to the Board during his short tenure.
CAA Board Chairperson Mark Darrow acknowledged Jill and Terry’s contribution to the Board and the CAA.

CAA Board members are appointed by the Minister to ensure the Board has appropriate knowledge, skill, and experience to assist the CAA to achieves its objectives and perform its functions. This can include representing the public interest in civil aviation.
