The 2018 Design Delegation Holders Seminar on 23 May 2018 at BECA in Auckland was attended by over 65 participants from industry, CASA and RNZAF, plus 12 CAA staff members.

The seminar gives Design Delegation Holders, Part 146 design organisations, and engineering staff, a chance to discuss technical and professional topics with the CAA and other industry members. Previously held every two years, the seminar has been so successful it has moved to an annual schedule.

This year’s seminar included a range of presentations from CAA, including a briefing on PSCPs and an update regarding the certification of UAS, plus the closed-door forum between the CAA and Design Delegation Holders which always provides useful feedback.

In addition to the CAA presentations, talks were given by industry participants Jon Kerr of Flight Structures Ltd, and Georgina Steadman-Adams of Airwork (NZ) Ltd, CASA Senior Certification Engineer David Rees, and Experimental Test Pilot Paco Uybarreta.
