This AC provides an acceptable means of compliance for an applicant for the issue of an airworthiness certificate Special Category - Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) under Civil Aviation Rule Part 21 Subpart H, Airworthiness Certificates, rule 21.201, Special category—LSA certification requirements, including type acceptance of the first example, and some continuing airworthiness aspects for operators. It also details the equivalent standards acceptable to the Director under rule 21.201(a)(11)(i) and provides guidance for a New Zealand designer or manufacturer of an LSA.
This AC relates specifically to rule 21.201, Part 43, General Maintenance Rules, and Part 91, General Operating and Flight Rules.
