Purpose

This AC describes an acceptable means of compliance with Civil Aviation Rule Part 21, Certification of Products and Parts. This material is intended to assist organisations and persons in gaining certification for aircraft types to be operated in New Zealand.

The guidance material in this AC reflects international best practice and is what the CAA has found to be the most robust process for achieving type certification and compliance with the various rule requirements.

Change notice

Revision 1 of this AC makes changes to align with redrafted rules under the Civil Aviation Act 2023 (CA Act 2023) and removes form number references. It also makes stylistic and formatting changes to align with current AC style.
