This AC describes an acceptable means of compliance to meet requirements for time flight experience and on the examination syllabus content that is acceptable to the Director for meeting the Civil Aviation Rule requirements for the issue of commercial pilot licences.
This AC relates to Civil Aviation Rule Part 61, Subpart E – Commercial Pilot Licences.
Revision 38 has amended the syllabus for Subject 16 CPL Air Law (Aircraft and Helicopter), and makes changes to align with redrafted rules under the Civil Aviation Act 2023 (CA Act 2023). New act references have been updated. The main changes are updating the abbreviations and definitions sections to align with the new rules and adding a new syllabus item 16.36.16 for the pilot-in-command (PIC) and operator to inform the ATS unit when carrying dangerous goods.
Finally, we have made minor stylistic changes.
