AC92-1 - Dangerous goods training

Purpose

The AC describes an acceptable means of compliance with the dangerous goods (DG) training requirements prescribed under Civil Aviation Rule Part 92, Dangerous Goods.

Related rules

This AC relates specifically to Part 92, Subpart E Training. In addition, it incorporates requirements of Part 141 Aviation Training Organisations Certification, as well as Part 119 Air Operator Certification, Part 121 Air Operations Large Aeroplanes, Part 125 Air Operations Medium Aeroplanes, and Part 135 Air Operations Helicopters and Small Aeroplanes.

Change notice

Revision 3 makes changes to reflect the new Civil Aviation Act 2023 (CA Act 2023), and:

• clarifies rule 92.203 Dangerous goods training programmes, that dangerous goods training programmes must be carried out by people with certificates that authorise DG training, and
• reflects new rule 92.205(b) Recurrent training, on the status of training programmes completed up to 60 days before being required.
