Advisory Circular AC66-3.1, Revision 0, Aircraft Maintenance Approval — Examination Subject 180 Maintenance of Special Category Amateur Aircraft This is a new AC. It provides an acceptable means of compliance for the syllabus content in respect of written and oral examinations for the Special Category Amateur Aircraft. This AC also provides guidance for recommended study material in respect of the examination syllabi in this AC. Although this is the initial revision of this AC, it is largely drawn from the syllabus for Subject 180, Maintenance Certification of Experimental Category Aircraft. This AC also includes updated information for study materials to sit an examination and aligning format to current AC standards. Because it is new, it is not marked up. |

Air Law – pilot syllabi changes The Part 61 Air Law syllabi have all been updated to reflect the new CA Act 2023 and recent rule changes that will come into effect on 5 April 2025. We have provided a marked-up version of each of the syllabi so participants can easily see the changes. Until then, these syllabi are provided to enable flight training providers to amend their training material before the update occurs in April. Please continue to use the current version of the applicable Advisory Circulars of each syllabus for current Air Law examinations. |

Airport security signage update The Civil Aviation Act 2023, which comes into effect on 5 April 2025, requires all Operational Area signs to have the existing penalties and references to the 1990 Act either removed or covered. There are some additional changes which affect Security Area signage at security designated aerodromes. |
